Additions and Changes
- Overhauled the train consist generation system. The previous system was almost entirely random. This has been replaced with a scripted model, augmented with procedural generation. The benefit to the new system is that it allows for more realistic train formations, including specific or unique vehicles that would have been difficult to realistically code around. For example, all HST sets will now have a buffet car included. Previously it would have been difficult to do so without adding specific rules, or not having a train composed entirely of buffet cars spawn.
- Two tracks! We have two tracks, and now we're going to use them. Bidirectional, full-duplex traffic has been introduced.
- A new font has been utilized that is more legible and eye pleasing.
- Trains calling at the station have been updated for better stopping position, and improved deceleration.
- New "station"; a countryside setting.
- New Intercity livery for HST sets.
- Further core system changes have been made in anticipation of the next big feature addition.
Known Issues
- Trainspotting mode is awkward when two trains overlap, prompting two numbers to appear. This will be improved in a future release.
- Lighting problems, specifically when fog is enabled, still occur with bleed through between lights and objects.
Todo
- Remaster most sounds, moving away from the 8-bit style.
- Adjust depth scaling.
- Adjust lights per scene, sky, and weather.
- The next big thing.
